The Great Swamp Refuge is one of more than 544 refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System that is administered by the Department of Interior's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Most places in the heart of the city (the square) are easily accessible by walking. If you arrive by train you'll probably have to call for a taxi for going anywhere beyond the immediate area. Walking will serve you well otherwise.
